    Absoluut2 Barge
Originally built as a private yacht in 1994 to cruise on the inland waterways of Europe, the Absoluut2 was formerly known as the ‘Marjorie’. Acquired several years ago by charismatic couple John and Ienka Baker they have brought their considerable experience in the boating world to the Absoluut2 and so ensure they give guests the time of their lives. In 2010 they will continue the tradition of luxury and relaxation aboard the Absoluut2, offering her splendid Tulip Cruises (available 04 April thru 29 May 2010). They will begin and end in Amsterdam and guests will be treated to the very best that Holland has to offer in the way of excursions, relaxation on board and world class food and wines. Please note the famous flower-filled Keukenhof Gardens usually close mid May, but the Absoluut2 offers two more cruising weeks after that which still offer many wonderful treats for the enthusiatic traveller.
At the beginning of June she will transfer to France and the Burgundy region, cruising between Nemours and Joigny, and also offering her alternative Upper Loire cruise itinerary (between Nemours and Briare) until the end of October 2010 (depending on booking committments already taken).
Standards on board are very high and the Absoluut2 is a very luxurious vessel. Huge picture windows in the lounge and dining room allow natural light to flood in at all times, creating a very pleasant place for relaxation and dining. Top quality leather sofas and a large coffee table enhance the lounge area, and the dining table easily seats 8 guests in comfort. Excellent bikes are carried on board for guests’ use, and a selection of more than 300 DVDs are also to hand for that (rare!) rainy day.
The two suites and two cabins (which can be either double or twin) are spacious and very well decorated to create a relaxing space where guests may wish to spend time during the day as well as sleeping at night. Each one has flat screen TV and DVD player. The sun deck is large and has a pleasant shaded area, as well as an area for sunning oneself, and the jacuzzi spa pool provides another pleasant alternative option. Vineyards, chateaux, vibrant markets, gentle country lanes and quaint villages all await you on this very personal cruise, far from the madding crowd. A totally graceful way to experience a barge cruise in 2010.....
