The Absoluut2 Barge

Originally built as a private yacht in 1994 to cruise on the inland waterways of Europe, the Absoluut2 was formerly known as the ‘Marjorie’. She has recently been acquired by new owners John and Ienka Baker who are very experienced in the boating world and who certainly know how to give guests the time of their lives. In 2008 they will continue the tradition of luxury and relaxation aboard the Absoluut2, whilst cruising a varied schedule that includes Holland cruises in the springtime, a two week Amsterdam to Paris cruise, then delightful cruises around the Champagne and Burgundy regions of France for the rest of the season (please see below for specific cruising dates). Standards on board are very high and the Absoluut2 is considered to be a very luxurious vessel. She has huge picture windows in the lounge and dining room which allow natural light to flood in at all times, creating a very pleasant place for relaxation and dining. Top quality leather sofas and a large coffee table enhance the lounge area, and the dining table easily seats 8 guests in comfort. Excellent bikes are carried on board for guests’ use, and a selection of more than 300 DVDs are also to hand for that (rare!) rainy day. The two suites and two cabins (which can be either double or twin) are spacious and very well decorated to create a relaxing space where guests may wish to spend time during the day as well as simply sleeping at night. Each one has flat screen TV and DVD player. The sun deck is large and has a pleasant shaded area, as well as an area for sunning oneself, and the jacuzzi spa pool provides another pleasant alternative option. Besides taking 8 guests in luxury she can also operate in tandem on selected routes for charters with La Bonne Humeur (also 8 guests), thus accommodating up to 16 passengers. The food and wine served is of a very high standard and you will be delighted by the gourmet meals and wines that are served on board throughout the cruise.
