The Bonheur is a traditional luxemoteur barge that was originally built in Holland to be a working barge in 1926. She has a very elegant hull shape and having now been transformed into a very pretty floating home, she is perfect for your private charter cruise with just four passengers. 18 months of loving care and attention were lavished on her by her dedicated English owners—your aimiable hosts Paul and Annie Roberts. Her graceful lines have been complemented with gentle steps up to the large deck area which are emphasised with new paintwork and hardwood timber capping to the handrail. They have also built a new handsome ‘iroko’ wheelhouse, which can be dismantled when cruising under the lower bridges on the canals. Internally the boat is light and airy due to the large picture windows with plenty of space to relax and unwind. Paul and Annie have succeeded in making her feel extremely inviting whilst remaining elegant and cosy at the same time, with French oak floors and ceilings complimented by simple traditional furnishings. The two pretty guest cabins are very comfortable— each with ensuite shower, WC and washbasin, and both can be furnished with either a ‘kingsize’ double bed or twin (two single) beds. The two cabins have been deliberately spaced apart to provide maximum privacy for each guest and each cabin has its own supply of hot water provided by the central heating boiler (so no worries about being the last guest to take a shower!)
