Cruising through this region you can feel the history of Europe all around you. The Alsatian people have long prided their special land and culture, often fought over, and the Germanic influence is very evident here. This portion of France has been claimed as German soil many times throughout the past centuries and this lends the area its very historic ambiance. It is also an excellent wine producing region and you will cruise through lush green valleys with the majestic Vosges Mountains in the distance. Very well indeed.
