Elisabeth is owner-operated by Sheena and Peter Jenner and their two assistants. Hard-working and industrious, Peter and Sheena have many
years of barging experience and particularly enjoy having families with children on board (cots, highchairs, etc can easily be provided) although
all guests are of course very welcome! The barge herself is a Dutch luxemoteur barge built in 1930 and has been completely transformed to a
very high standard charter barge. Accommodating six passengers in three recently refurbished almost identical double/twin cabins, each with
private en suite bathroom, she floats gently through Burgundy offering guests the perfect way to relax and unwind. The cabins are attractively
decorated in warm pastels, the large open saloon with its pale apricot and gold colour scheme is spacious and comfortable with large high windows,
and the whole boat is fully air conditioned. The dining area is also in the main saloon area and seats six guests very comfortably. Food
served on the Elisabeth is of a very high standard thanks to the talented barge chef, and is complimented by Sheena’s personal selection of fine
wines.
In 2012 the Elisabeth will spend the spring cruising in the Netherlands, before returning to her traditional Burgundy cruises on the
Burgundy canal between Tanlay and Venarey-les-Laumes and on the Nivernais canal between Auxerre and Clamecy. See the intinerary
page for the sample cruise itineraries.
PLEASE NOTE—Elisabeth’s cruises have a ‘Wine and Chocolate’ theme to them, with proposed tastings of both wines and chocolates
throughout the week, plus extra of both on board for your delight and delectation during the cruise. This is at no extra
charge. If this does not interest you, the classic cruise structure will be adhered to and the extra wine and chocolate elements
will be omitted.
