The Elisabeth Barge

Elisabeth is a Dutch luxemoteur barge built in 1930 which is now completely refurbished to a very high standard as a charter barge. Accommodating six passengers in one twin and two double/twin cabins, each with private en suite bathrooms, she floats gently thruogh Burgundy, offering guests the perfect way to relax and unwind. The cabins are pretty, the large open saloon is spacious and comfortable and the whole boat is fully air conditioned. The dining area is also in the main saloon area and this is split-level, seating six guests very comfortably. Elisabeth is owner-operated by Sheena and Peter Jenner and their two assistants (three in Holland). Peter and Sheena have many years’ barging experience and particularly enjoy having families with children on board (cots, highchairs, etc can be provided). Food served on the Elisabeth is of a very high standard thanks to the talented barge chef, and is complimented by Sheena’s personal selection of fine wines. In 2008 the Elisabeth offers two beautiful cruises: Burgundy Canal cruises from 05 April to 30 May 2008 (between Tanlay and Pouillenay), and her tranquil Nivernais Canal Cruises for the rest of the season from 07 June to 31 Oct 2008 (between Clamecy and Auxerre). See the following pages for itineraries.
