Formerly known as the ‘Marguerite’, the recently sold and renamed ‘Estello’ is the newest barge to cruise through the very special heart of
Provence and vibrant Camargue region. We are thrilled that her new owner is the charismatic, effervescent Dutch barge-operator
Cobie Lagerburg. She will offer discerning clients the chance to see this region at its best. Cobie has been successfully owner-operating
the gorgeous
Etoile barge for many years, and will put her wealth of experience to excellent use on
the Estello in 2012.
Built in 1937
the barge was converted to a luxury hotel-barge in 1981 and most recently refurbished in 2008. She is a very pretty barge which easily accommodates
up to 20 guests in comfort, aided by an international crew of four.
Her light and airy saloon is the perfect place to relax with a drink in
hand and watch the world float gently past. There are ample comfy chairs in which to relax, and also a pleasant bar area. The exterior sun deck
is also a superb vantage point and is furnished with good quality outdoor furniture, so there is always plenty of choice of where to spend time
(when not out on fascinating excursions or cycling or walking of course!).
Cabins are simple but very pleasant, of medium size and very comfortable,
each with their own private en suite bathroom. Each cabin also has ample closet space, a hair dryer, adaptor plug, alarm clock, bottled
water, water glasses, wooden hangers, tissues, hand soap, shower gel, shampoo, towels, insect repellent, make-up mirror, full-length mirror, a
fan and a small flashlight. With air conditioning throughout (individual controls in each cabin) plus central heating (again with individual thermostats)
the Estello offers every comfort. There is also television on board, internet access, an iPod docking station, an informative library of
books, games, CDs and also bicycles to use whenever you wish. Theme cruises are also available on special request, and include ‘Cycling
Cruises’, ‘Wine Cruises’, ‘Barge and Shop(!) Cruises’ and ‘Cooking Cruises’.
The Estello can also cruise in tandem with the Lafayette barge to accommodate
groups of up to 42 guests.
