The enchanting Nivernais Canal remains one of Burgundy’s undiscovered treasures. Sleepy hamlets, wooded slopes and grazing Charolais cows pass so close you can brush them with a hand as you gently cruise this dream-like route aboard L’Art de Vivre. This very pretty 8 passenger hotel-barge started life as a Scottish ammunition carrier and was transformed during 1997 by a team of skilled craftsmen into a floating celebration of ‘The Good Life’ in traditional Burgundian style. ALL CABINS AND BATHROOMS WERE TOTALLY REFURBISHED IN 2009 so the feeling on board is really new and fresh! (See new pics by clicking yellow button above). The sundeck is an explosion of colour throughout the season with a grand array of bright petunias really stealing the show. The excellent quality teak deck furniture with comfy cushions enable guests to really relax and make maximum use of outdoor deck space, and the heated spa pool is the jewel in the crown of this heavenly barge. Your crew of four comprises Captain, Tour Guide, Master Chef and Hostess, all of whom share a love of the Nivernais Canal and are ready and eager to cater to your every need. This cruise region simply oozes traditional French charm and you may soon find yourself easily forgetting what day it is!
