'LUCIOLE'

This historic barge - expressly designed to explore intimate, up-country waterways - has attractively decorated, light interiors and has been converted under the direction of waterways expert and author John Liley and his wife Penny to ensure utmost comfort for up to 14 passengers. The spacious open plan saloon and dining room with its large windows, plus the high level sun deck which seats 14 easily, provide plenty of space for relaxation and fine dining. Delicious meals are served on board using the varied fresh local produce bought daily, and lunch and dinner are accompanied by very enjoyable wines from the Burgundy region. Lunch is often served outside under the shade of pretty parasols, and each evening dinner is enjoyed as you watch the sun set over a perfect day. Year after year, guests have commented on the warm spirited yet diligent nature of the crew. Cruises on the Luciole are relaxed and slow-paced, and the area is superb for cycling and walking due to its excellent tow paths.
