Cruising on the Burgundy Canal, between Dijon and Vandenesse

‘La Reine Pédauque’ offers a world of comfort in a romantic style of past years. Cruising with only 8 passengers in four luxurious suites with private bathrooms. On the air-conditioned upper deck you have a cosy salon, an elegant restaurant as well as the ship’s bar. Up front all passengers enjoy the sun-deck. Relaxing in a chair, you can contemplate the landscape passing by with a glass of Champagne in hand. There are always Mountain bikes ready for some moments of fitness, strolls along the canal tow-path or longer distances and rides.

Everyday your chef delights you from morning to evening. The day begins with a hearty French breakfast, then a traditional Burgundy lunch menu, accompanied with selected wines. During the calm afternoon coffee, tea and pastries are served in the salon. Every detail of your cruise is affectionately prepared by your first class crew who are also English speaking.

The barge cruises into the late afternoon, taking you through the heart Burgundy’s countryside and picturesque villages, famous for their cultural history and art. The stress of everyday life rapidly disappears and is replaced by the rhythm of the canal locks .A true way of life.

Additionally for the 7-day/6-night cruise: Monday is dedicated to exploring the wine country and the capital of Beaune with a fabulous excursion organised by the Captain. You will be able to visit some of the most famous vineyards in the world such as Corton with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. There will be a wine tasting ceremony to discover all the flavours of the grapes and some of the secrets of wine making. Also the magnificent Hospice de Beaune with its distinctive architecture and history, the cobbled streets, boutiques and an invitation to a fine restaurant for lunch is also included in the program.

The sister ship MS Niagara offers the same cruise route as La Reine Pédauque, however both ships differ in their concept and possibilities.
