In August of 2004 the ‘Who Knows’ was purchased by your gracious hosts Jason Ashcroft and Dawn Coles. Dawn is a graduate of the prestigious Concord Hotel and Restaurant Management Scheme. Following in her mother’s footsteps as a professional chef she applies her skills to delight their guests every day. Dawn’s attention to detail ensures that the barge runs as smoothly as clockwork. Jason graduated from the famous Ecole du Hotelier (School for Hoteliers) on the shores of Lac Leman, Switzerland.
After running hotels, restaurants, night clubs and bars in Switzerland, England and East Africa he has now settled down in France on the ‘Who Knows’ with Dawn, where his skills as a wine enthusiast, gourmand and professional bilingual tour guide have really come into their own. And so, Jason and Dawn are perfect hosts for you to experience the gentle delights of a beautiful land—Burgundy at its very best. The lush and unspoilt countryside stretches out on either side of you as you cruise in serenity on this glorious section of the Burgundy Canal.
As hosts Dawn and Jason are very relaxed and easy to get along with, and are always keen to ensure that their guests have the very best vacation time. There are medieval villages peppering the cruise itinerary, as well as abbeys, chateaux, churches, museums of great interest and of course the people, their towns and the world-famous wines that have been produced in this region for centuries. Her three good-sized cabins (two twin, one double) each have a spacious and very modern, pretty bathroom, and there is plenty of room for all to totally relax and soak up the pleasure of being looked after by warm and generous hosts on this chilled-out barge. Please note there are three evening meals taken off the barge and these will be at your own expense.
